
Chef Steven started Elizabethan Catering Services Ltd., in 1985. Now, 44 years’ experience as a Chef and in our 36th years in business. You are in great hands. I love making great food and making people’s dreams come to fruition. COVID affected the business terribly, and the past one and a half years have been extremely stressful on the business, but we are still here, waiting to cater your next event. Truly excited to be doing it, to be honest. The kitchen is truly the place I love to be. I am even more determined to be the best that I can be and provide the very best food and service that I can, and do it better than anyone else.
Since COVID began and the restrictions lifted, there have been some major increases in everything. From Food, Gas, Disposable Goods, Linens etc. etc. Everything it seems has become more expensive. We certainly can try and minimize the impact, but cannot possibly absorb those costs, and remain in business. You have probably seen those changes yourself in the stores.
Changes have had to be made – for the better, in my opinion. I cherish my customers. During the year and a half we were doing take-out meals, I built a special relationship with those who were keeping us in business. I got to know most by name, and it was a good feeling to be making delicious food for them, checking up on them and making sure they were happy. I loved that. I want that to be the same with Catering for small and large events. I want to meet my customers. I want to discuss their needs and get to know them, and them me. I want to earn their confidence and feel that we are “On Their Team” for success. If you are truly interested in being part of this unbeatable link between customer and caterer, you have absolutely found the right fit. Being chosen by price and nothing else, is a thing of the past. Honestly, I do not want to know. I want to be able to choose my customers and they to choose us, by association and not the disassociation that price alone causes.
So, Elizabethan Catering Services – reborn, is not the same as it was. Feeding over 1,500 guests on a Saturday is not our goal any more. I cannot possibly keep in touch so easily. I do not want to be a food factory. I want to make the best food that I can, get to know my customers and get emotionally attached to them by name and recognition, not a function number! Whether a Corporate Event for 50, or a Wedding for 200, I want to know who we are preparing the food for, and be able to put my heart into each event. I want to never let anyone down – ever. To do so would betray the trust they gave me. That’s it in a nutshell. I hope it makes sense. I love the idea and can feel the changes that happened during COVID – all for the better.
Time to get back to “Grass Roots”. I am excited for us all!! Thank you. Chef Steven
